Plano Animal Shelter Opens Doors to Pets & People on Saturday
The City of Plano Animal Services Division is celebrating National
Animal Shelter Appreciation Week with an Open House on Saturday,
November 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
National Animal Shelter Week is November 6 to 12, and was created by the
Humane Society of the United States. Plano’s shelter will be hosting a
Microchip Clinic with microchip implants for only $15 per pet, plus
registration. The Plano Dog Park Association will be joining in the
celebration at the shelter, along with representatives from Doggie Zen
Den, a new Plano doggie daycare. Refreshments will be served for both
four-legged and two-legged guests as well as contests and prizes.
The Open House is an excellent opportunity for citizens to take a closer
look at the services the Plano Animal Shelter provides to area pets and
people. Those services include: animal adoption, lost pet resources, pet
rescue and pet tips. The Shelter is at 4028 West Plano Parkway.
Volunteers play a vital role in carrying for the emotional needs of
Plano shelter pets. Learn how you can make these furry friends have a
more enjoyable shelter stay.
November is also Adopt a Senior Pet Month. Special adoption fees have
been created for dogs and cats 7yrs. & up. (Senior Dogs: $50 & Senior
Cats: $25)
