FESTIVAL OF TREES GREAT TREE GIVEAWAY BENEFITS PLANO LIBRARIES

Friends of the Plano Public Library are hosting the Tenth Annual Festival of Trees on Friday, December 2 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Interurban Railway Station Museum. The museum is located at 901 E. Main Street in downtown Plano, adjacent to Haggard Park.

Held in conjunction with Plano’s Tree Lighting and downtown holiday celebration, this year’s Festival of Tree’s Great Tree Giveaway includes a drawing for five festive trees decorated with a variety of books, toys, games, and gifts for children and youth. Each tree’s value is approximately $500.00 and is decorated according to a theme. This year’s themes include a Book tree, Santa/Reindeer tree, Movie tree, Sports tree and Nostalgia tree. Trees are currently displayed at Plano’s libraries.

The drawing for the Great Tree Giveaway will be held Friday evening, December 2 at 8:30 p.m. on the Haggard Stage, located next to the Interurban Railway Station Museum. Tickets for the Great Tree Giveaway drawing are $1.00 each and are currently on sale at each Plano Public Library System (PPLS) library location. Tickets will also be sold during event along with cups of holiday wassail. Winners need not be present at the event to win.

Children and families are also encouraged to stop by and greet Spot the Dog. Representatives from the Friends of the Plano Public Library will be on-hand to meet the public and share information about their organization.

Friends of the Plano Public Library is a non-profit membership organization founded in 1965 to promote interest in the libraries and to encourage citizens to fully utilize the opportunities offered through Plano Public Library System. Proceeds from the event support library activities and programs for citizens of all ages.
