Plano Pure Products Seeking New Name
Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Plano and Richardson Residents Urged to Submit
Entries
Through December 20, area citizens are encouraged to submit their ideas
for a new brand name for Plano Pure Products. An online entry form
provides ease in contest submittals, with the winner receiving three
cubic yards of any Plano Pure product delivered to their door.
The name change of the popular Plano Pure Products line results from
Plano’s expansion as a regional composter, to now include the
cooperation of Allen, Frisco, McKinney and Richardson.
Online contest entry forms are available at the City of Plano, Frisco,
and Allen websites. Forms are also available at the city’s Custer Road
Facility, 9901 Custer Road in Plano; Shades of Green Nursery at 8801
Coit Road in Frisco; and Puckett’s Nursery at 811E. Main St in Allen.
Plano has long been a regional leader in diverting yard trimmings from
the landfill, with the surrounding cities recently joining in.
Plano Pure Products are made from collected yard trimmings and food
materials, with the resulting compost process producing high quality
Compost, Topdressing, Soil Blend, Wood Mulch and Colorized Mulch.
Compost products carry the Seal of Testing Assurance of the U. S.
Composting Council.
“We are excited to have input from the local citizenry in finding a new
brand name” said the city’s Compost Education and Marketing Coordinator,
Roger Minehane. “It is their involvement in their respective city yard
trimming collection programs that makes our regional composting
initiative the success it is and helps restore nutrients to our soil
through the use of our products.”
