Plano Urges Hurricane Victims to Report to Regional Shelter
The City of Plano will be funneling any of its support through the Dallas
Regional Shelter, established at Reunion Area. Hurricane victims should
report to Reunion Arena for sheltering and assistance.
Individuals wishing to make donations should be cautious of potential scams
of persons posing as hurricane victims. Any donations should be made through
agencies designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). A
list of those agencies, along with Plano blood donation centers, is located
on the City of Plano Web site at
www.plano.gov.
The shift to a regional support location will enable hurricane relief
agencies to direct aid where it is needed. It will also help loved ones to
get information on their missing family members.
A support hotline with information and services for Katrina victims is
available by calling 211.
