City Announces Finalists for Fire Chief and Director of Homeland Security
Executive Director Bruce Glasscock today announced the list of finalists for both the recently vacated position of Fire Chief and the newly created position of Director of Homeland Security.
Fire Chief finalists are: (in alphabetical order)
• Robert Acker, Interim Fire Chief, City of Plano • Steve Earley, Deputy Fire Chief, City of Riverside, California • Hugo Esparza, Executive Deputy Fire Chief, City of Fort Worth • Michael Evitts, Assistant Fire Chief, City of Irving • Kevin McGee, Assistant Fire Chief, Prince William County, Virginia • Mike Morgan, Assistant Fire Chief, Los Angeles County, California
Director of Homeland Security finalists are: (in alphabetical order)
• Colonel Brian Attaway, Texas National Guard, Austin • James Delaney, National Consultant, Emergency Preparedness, Palm Coast, Florida • Patrick McMacken, Emergency Management Coordinator, City of Irving • Jamie Moore, Director, Office of Emergency Management, Douglas County, Colorado • Shane Stovall, Project Manager, General Physics Corporation, New Port Richey, Florida • Dan Summers, Director, Collier County Bureau of Emergency Services, Naples, Florida
The finalist listing is a result of a national executive search conducted by Waters – Oldani Executive Recruitment, a division of Waters Consulting Group, Inc. There were 26 applicants for the Fire Chief position and 68 applicants for the Director of Homeland Security position. The finalist listing for both positions was provided to the City of Plano by Waters-Oldani.
The Fire Chief finalists will be brought to Plano to be interviewed by an assessment panel on September 1, 2006. The finalists for Director of Homeland Security will be interviewed by an assessment panel on August 18, 2006.
Once the assessment panels have concluded their work, final candidate recommendations will be made to City Manager Tom Muehlenbeck.
The Fire Chief is expected to be at work in Plano by November 1, 2006. The Director of Homeland Security is expected to be at work in Plano by October 1, 2006.
