2007 GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP™ T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST “CLEANER IS GREENER – DON’T LITTER”
Keep Plano Beautiful (KPB) is encouraging all Plano students to create a “new look” for the 2007 Great American Cleanup (GAC) t-shirt – and who better to help with a new design than kids!
The theme of this year’s contest is: “CLEANER IS GREENER – DON’T LITTER.” Contest requirements are listed on entry forms which are available on the KPB web site, www.keepplanobeautiful.org, as well as at the five Plano libraries. The winner of the contest will have his or her design on the 2007 GAC t-shirts, will be presented a special certificate by the Mayor during a City Council meeting and will be honored at the 2007 Environmental Community Awards.
The design contest is open to Kindergarten through 5th grade Plano students (public, private and home-schooled kids) throughout the month of September. Entries (one entry per child) will be judged on originality, legibility, colorfulness, appropriateness to the theme, and creativity.
Plano libraries have partnered with KPB once again to help provide and collect forms. Boxes with blank entry forms are at Davis, Harrington, Parr, Haggard, and Schimelpfenig libraries. For more information on this project, please contact Casey Eckert, Keep Plano Beautiful Education Coordinator, at 972-769-4216, or caseye@plano.gov.
