Important PUBLIC FORUMS Set – Plano Plans for the Future
The City of Plano is looking ahead to a bright future, and they want public input in preparation of the anticipated growth to come. The Planning Department’s Long Range Planning Division will host two public sessions to get citizen feedback relating to Plano’s Comprehensive Plan which serves as a guide in forecasting and managing citywide development:
Forum #1 Thursday, September 14 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm Haggard Library, Program Room 2501 Coit Road
Forum #2 Thursday, September 21 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm Plano Municipal Center, Training Room A 1520 K Avenue
At 252,950 pop., Plano is part of one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country with more than five million residents – expected to grow to over nine million by the year 2030. Planning for how this regional growth will affect the City of Plano, demographics, diminishing resources and other local issues will be discussed at these open forums – issues relating to the Transportation and Land Use Elements of the Comprehensive Plan for progress and maturity.
All Plano residents, property owners and anyone else interested in the growth and development of the City are welcome to attend one or both of the scheduled meetings. For more information about the forums or the Comprehensive Plan, contact Steve Sims at 972-941-7152 or visit www.planoplanning.org.
