Hubach Hired as Plano Downtown Planner
The City of Plano has hired Jon Hubach as a Downtown Planner in the Planning Department. Mr. Hubach will manage a number of programs and events related to Downtown Plano, along with focusing on business recruitment and marketing efforts. The hiring was in response to a recommendation from the Downtown Plano Retail Task Force, a group of property owners and merchants appointed by the Plano City Council. In the Task Force’s August report to City Council, they requested a staff position be devoted to these efforts.
“With the arrival of DART rail service and the addition of new apartments and townhouses, Downtown Plano is being transformed into an urban village,” said Phyllis Jarrell, Plano’s Director of Planning. “The new downtown planner will be instrumental in helping the property owners and merchants strengthen its retail vitality.”
Mr. Hubach comes to Plano from College Station, where he was employed as an Economic Development Specialist. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and a Bachelors Degree in Communications from Southwest Missouri State University. His first day in Plano was Sept. 25.
