KCS Railway Improvements Close Crossing of Plano Parkway at Northbound U.S. 75 Frontage Road
Starting noon Friday, October 27 and throughout the weekend, motorists using the Northbound U.S. 75 Frontage Road at Plano Parkway and east/westbound Plano Parkway at U.S. 75 will need to reroute due to Railroad Crossing repairs. Drivers are encouraged to add at least 10 minutes to their travel plans. The intersection will be closed as KCS Railroad replaces the rail crossing of Plano Parkway and the Northbound U.S. 75 service road. Once completed the paving should make the ride across the track crossing smoother on the vehicle and more comfortable for the passengers. The intersection should be open again to traffic by Monday morning.
Northbound U.S. 75 motorists seeking destinations via the northbound frontage road at Plano Parkway should take the Galatyn/Renner exit. A detour route with barricades and signs will direct northbound frontage road traffic to go east on Renner Road, north on Plano Road/K Avenue, west on Park Boulevard, and then north again on the U.S. 75 frontage road. The frontage road will be closed to northbound traffic beginning at Executive Drive.
Westbound motorists on Plano Parkway will be able to travel up to Taylor Drive, at which point the road will be closed to through traffic. Motorists seeking to continue west on Plano Parkway across U.S. 75 should go north on K Avenue, left on Park Boulevard, left on Chisholm Place and then right on the Southbound U.S. 75 frontage road to Plano Parkway.
Eastbound motorists on Plano Parkway seeking to continue east past the northbound service road will cross U.S. 75, turn left at the northbound service road, continue north to Park Boulevard, then east to K Avenue, and south to Plano Parkway.
During these improvements, access to businesses located in the southeast corner of Plano Parkway at the Northbound U.S. 75 Frontage Road and along Plano Parkway between the frontage road and K Avenue will be provided via Plano Parkway east of U.S. 75.
