Plano Party Animals Celebrate Shelter Appreciation Week
The potential pets at the Plano Animal Shelter are busy sprucing up their areas for a party to celebrate National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week. On Saturday, Nov. 11, the Shelter will host an open house to allow citizens to check out all the ways the City of Plano Animal Services Division enhances the quality of life in the community. The festivities are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Plano Animal Services, 4028 W. Plano Pkwy.
Pet owners can partake in a low-cost vaccination clinic and microchip clinic. The Plano Dog Park Association will be taking festive holiday photos from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with Santa Paws, a Great Pyrenees. Exciting contests and door prizes, along with refreshments, will make the day even more fun. All the great dogs and cats available for adoption at the shelter will be meeting and greeting visitors. The caring team that tends to these special pets will be available, along with the new Animal Services trucks. Don’t forget to ask about volunteer opportunities.
National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week was created by the Human Society of the United States and is celebrated Nov. 5 through Nov. 11, 2006.
