Plano’s “MLK 2005 Celebration” carries the theme “His
Vision, Our Mission.” It’s a vision not hard to applaud:
“
Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism
or the darkness of destructive selfishness. This is the judgment. Life’s
most persistent and urgent question is, “What are you doing for others?’”
Again this year, persons across the world will gather to celebrate the
life and legacy of a remarkable man, who changed the face of our nation
through his civic and courageous leadership and his true belief that persons
everywhere should have “dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits.”
The Plano MLK Celebration Committee, a volunteer community service organization,
has planned a number of events to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. For additional information on these events, go to www.planomlk.org
All events are free and open to the public.
