A crisp new
layout teams up with informative new features to provide readers of Plano’s
online news magazine, planocitynews.com, an expanded forum for news and
information regarding our All-America community and municipal organization.
“For some time now we have been planning enhancements to planocitynews.com
to provide enhanced information and education segments for our readers,”
said planocitynews.com Editor Deborah Stone. “We feel our readers will find
the changes we’ve made both visually pleasing and informationally strong.”
In addition to the continuing news article format, the following new
categories have been added to the magazine.
News Briefs: Offering quick snippets of timely information from public
meetings to municipal recognitions to reminders about holiday closures,
upcoming events and late breaking news.
Did You Know: Enjoyable trivia about Plano municipal services, history and
statistics.
What’s This: Snippets of intriguing photos to challenge you to guess their
identity. A click on the photo will reveal the full picture, including an
interesting fact.
Mug Shots: Photos showing off the beauty and diversity of our All-America
City!
Coming Up: Major community events are spotlighted for quick reference with a
handy link into the City’s Calendar of Events.
Online Resources: Your one-stop shop for a variety of online resources.
Included are quick links to the Plano Television Network’s 24/7 real time
video stream of televised programming; ListServ, your portal to signing up
for online newsletters and departmental notifications; Publications, links
to online publications including the City’s annual report, budget and more;
City Sales, a link into the City’s logo merchandise online sales shop.
A popular past feature, Community Snapshots, remains in the lineup,
featuring a photo slideshow highlighting community or municipal events.
“In addition to our new features we have changed the way our current news
and news archives are presented, offering a crisper, more visual format,
with increased opportunity for daily updates” said Ms. Stone. “In addition
to the planocitynews.com staff, Plano’s webmasters, Brian Bentley and
Melissa Peachey, have worked to transform the site over the past few weeks,
and continue to keep the site fresh with current postings.”
ListServ is an easy way to receive updates when news articles are posted on
planocitynews.com, through secure emailing to your designated address. Mail
