Last year, the City of Plano property tax rate was $0.4535. That rate raised
$94,119,496, a portion of which was used to fund operations, such as, public
safety, park development and maintenance, recreation programs, libraries,
infrastructure maintenance, community health and general administration.
This year, the City of Plano is proposing a property tax of $0.4535. That
rate would raise $98,052,501.20, which is $3,933,005.20 more taxes than
imposed last year.
There will be two public hearings to consider that increase. The first
public hearing will be held on August 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Plano Municipal
Building at 1520 Avenue K. The second hearing will be held on August 31 at
5:00 p.m. at the Plano Municipal Building at 1520 Avenue K.
You have the right to attend the hearings and make comments. You are
encouraged to attend and make comments if you wish.
