All Hurricane Katrina evacuees currently residing in Plano need to register
through the City of Plano Evacuee Processing Center to receive the maximum
assistance available.
The Evacuee Processing Center is located at Central Fire Station, 1901
Avenue K. It is open daily from 1:00pm to 7:00pm.
Registration for an evacuee badge is fast and easy, with the badge providing
access to donations, housing and other services, including medical services.
Registration also enables the City to know where evacuees are located to
provide appropriate support.
The First Baptist Church of Plano, 1300 E. 15th Street, is set up to
distribute clothing, food, toiletries, toys, and infant care products to
persons who are registered with the City. Their operating hours are Tuesday,
Thursday and Saturday, 11:00am – 7:00pm for both distribution and collection
of items.
The City is working with appropriate agencies to help coordinate long and
short-term housing, transportation, workforce and medical assistance. In
addition, arrangements are being made with a local travel agency to provide
free relocation to another area or state for residence.
City of Plano registration ensures you have access to these important
services and more.
If you are an evacuee of Hurricane Katrina,
currently residing in
Plano, please register yourself and any
family members with you, including children.
Again, Central Fire Station is located at 1901 Avenue K, adjacent Historic
Downtown Plano between the intersections of 15th Street at Avenue K and Park
at Avenue K.
