Your Money: Your Services: Plano Wants You to Decide

Posted:  November 15, 2006

Beginning Wednesday, November 15, 2006, the City of Plano is asking your help to decide where you, a Plano citizen, want your money to go.

Plano residents are encouraged to express their thoughts on critical and valued service areas by completing the “Where should the money go?” survey now online on the City’s website.  (link furnished below)

To continue providing services in a manner consistent with what Plano citizens are accustomed, a Service Prioritization Study has been developed.  The survey intent is two-fold:  To educate Plano citizens on how efficiently City funds are utilized in providing services and to gauge citizen opinions on the value of services.

Supplementing the online survey, National Service Research will be assisting the City through a random telephone survey.  Survey responses will be gathered through Wednesday, December 6, 2006, with results posted in January 2007.  Only two responses per valid residential address will be accepted by the survey.

The online survey only takes a few moments and allows you to provide needed input in helping determine funding and delivery of services desired throughout the community, now and in future years.  Citizen input remains a key component to planning and decision-making by the City Council and staff, with high importance placed on citizens indicating how they prefer their tax dollars to be spent.

The City of Plano strives to ensure its citizens receive the highest level of service at all times, delivered in the most cost-effective manner.  Meeting this goal requires constant attention to service delivery, customer demands, industrial technologies and budget targets.  City leadership believes planning is key to continuing the reputation of excellence Plano has earned.

Your time, as a Plano resident, is highly appreciated in taking the online City Service Prioritization Study survey.  It’s your money; It’s your Plano:  so you decide.
