The Comprehensive Plan reflects the future vision of Plano and feedback from our residents is important. Below are some of the ways you can get involved:
Fill out the Survey
Fill out the online survey and provide staff with your views regarding Plano’s future vision. This feature should be available in the next few weeks.
Take the Case
Plano Tomorrow will be the guiding document for land use and transportation for the next 20 years, helping to ensure that Plano continues to be a thriving employment center and great place to live. As we develop the new plan, it’s very important that we get input from as many of our citizens as possible.
One way we are doing this is through our new “Take the Case” meeting kit. This kit contains all the tools for hosting your own small group meeting focused on Plano Tomorrow. The purpose of the meeting is to engage residents in discussion and gather feedback on Plano’s future in an informal setting. The meeting is designed to last no more than 90 minutes and groups of five to eight people provide the best results.
Would you help us test this new concept by hosting a meeting? As the meeting host you would be responsible for coordinating the meeting details such as location, date, time, and manage the meeting by keeping the discussion on track and ensuring return of all feedback materials to the Plano Municipal Center after the event. All of the meeting materials and invitations will be provided by the city. Following the meeting, we would also be interested in your feedback on how the meeting went and any ideas you have for improving the concept.
If you would be interested in “Taking the Case” please let Planners, Steve Sims or Kate Perry know by calling us at 972-941-7151 or emailing ( stevesi@plano.gov or katep@plano.gov ). Also, if you would like more details regarding the “Take the Case” program before signing on, please just let us know.
Attend a public meeting
Public meetings were held on Tuesday, November 9th and Tuesday, November 16th. There were presentations and discsussions on planning issues and topics of the issues impacting Plano. The public meetings were a success with over 60 people attending and providing feedback on Plano’s future.
If you were not able to attend the meeting, it is not too late to provide input. Please review the meeting handout and give us your comments on the questions and rankings exercises. You can submit your comments to Steve Sims, Senior Planner via email or regular mail:

The first work session will be held on Tuesday, October 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. Future dates will be posted on the Comprehensive Plan website in advance of the meetings.
Public Hearings
