What is a Comprehensive Plan?

What is a Comprehensive Plan?
The Comprehensive Plan guides the physical development and growth of the city by providing recommendations and establishing goals for land use, transportation, housing, and infrastructure planning. The policies established in this document provide a framework within which individuals, businesses and public officials can make decisions that are consistent with the community's vision for the future.

Why is a Comprehensive Plan Important?
The Comprehensive Plan is important because it describes the desired future for your community.  This vision for the future will be developed over the next year by gathering feedback from various stakeholders through public meetings, discussion with community leaders, and city staff.
