Property Standard Specialists are assigned specific areas to inspect residential, commercial and industrial districts for compliance with city code and zoning ordinances, and to assist in the education of residents and business owners in code and ordinance matters.

Register A Complaint
There are several ways you may register a complaint with our department.
The citizen service request system is an online data base that will log your complaint with the department. The complaint is then processed accordingly. Click on a link below for the appropriate complaint form.
You may also register a complaint by the following methods:
Phone - Call (972) 941-7124 to connect to our specially trained customer service representatives who are ready to help you with your requests.
E-Mail - All e-mail complaints should be forwarded to Administrative Assistant staff at psdsupport@plano.gov . The e-mail should include the address of the property in question and a brief description of the concern or type of violation. Please note if you would like feedback in reference to the matter.

Code Compliance Based on the power to protect the health, safety and welfare of all citizens, Property Standards conducts inspections to ensure compliance to city code. Common violations:
High Grass and Weeds

Junked Vehicles
Tree limbs and branches (extending into right-of-way)

Fence Maintenance
Zoning Compliance Zoning is used to implement the land-use plan and allows the City to set aside specific areas for residential, commercial, industrial, and other forms of urban development. Specialists enforce zoning to ensure that residents and businesses comply with zoning ordinances within designated zoning districts. Common violations:
