NEWS BRIEF

The Genealogy Friends of Plano Libraries, Inc. has made yet another contribution to aid in the quest by those persons wanting to “find their roots!”  A $5,000 check was presented to the Genealogy, Local History, Texana and Archives Division of the Plano Public Library System, one of several donations made by the group.  Genealogy Friends was formed in 1997 to assist and promote all family history researchers in Collin County and the surrounding communities.  The recent donation will be used to purchase Collin County records on microfilm.  Boasting a collection of over 26,000 print, microform, map and CD-ROM items, the Genealogy collection is a “must do” for any researcher.  Visit the collection at Haggard Library, 2501 Coit Road, 972-769-4240.
