Public Safety consists of the Plano Police Department, Plano Fire-Rescue, 9-1-1 Communications and Plano Emergency Management.

Public Safety Communications (PSC) is the answering point of all 9-1-1 and non-emergency Police / Fire / Emergency Medical Service calls made within the 71.6 square miles that make up the City of Plano. Well-trained dispatchers serve Plano 24/7 as the first point of help in an emergency situation. The team is committed to excellence with every call.

9-1-1 calls are answered each year which is over 400 per day.
