Water Quality Assessment Program

Learn to Think Like a Scientist Outside the Classroom

The City of Plano is building a network of trained volunteers from local high schools to gather data regarding the natural conditions of local creeks and streams.

The Plano Water Quality Assessment Program provides students with a learning opportunity encouraging them to think, read and write like a scientist.

Students Gain:

  • Experience and exposure with field work and testing.
  • An opportunity to earn community service hours.
  • Acknowledgment in the publication of results.
  • Experience which benefits their college and/or career aspirations.
