Street closure petitions for residential street closure need to be received at least 14 days before the proposed event. Petitions must be signed by 75% of the residential properties that are adjacent to the proposed street closure. Complete the liability waiver and return by email. Per Ordinance No.2003-4-16, block parties must be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. Per Ordinance No. 68-8-1 it is unlawful for any person to consume alcoholic beverages on any public street, alley or public place adjacent to any street or alley in the city.

The City of Plano has a trailer available specifically for neighborhood-wide block parties. Reserving the trailer Opens a New Window. is free for all neighborhoods that are registered with the City’s BEST Neighborhoods division. Neighborhoods need to be registered as a homeowners association, neighborhood association, crime watch group or multifamily communities. Please refer to the calendar below for availability and reservations. City staff will drop off the trailer on Friday afternoon at an approved location and pick it up Monday morning. Residents will not be permitted to move the trailer at any time. An adult over the age of 18 will need to be present when the trailer is dropped off. An adult does not need to be present when the trailer is picked up Monday morning. The trailer is not available for reservation Tuesday through Thursday. Neighborhoods may reserve the trailer one time per calendar year and make reservations up to nine months in advance.
