Deferred Disposition

Qualifying for Deferred Disposition

You can either appear in person to fill out an application for Deferred Disposition or apply online, if eligible. If you qualify, you will be required to pay the state costs and a special expense fine. The state costs and special expense fine will be an amount equal to the fine and costs that are set for the alleged offense.

To determine if you are eligible, please visit our online payment system or contact the Clerk’s Office at 972-941-2199.

Failure to Comply

Failure to comply with any requirements of the Deferred Order will result in your case being scheduled for a Show Cause Hearing. If you fail to appear at the hearing, judgment will be entered.

You may waive your hearing by signing the waiver on your show cause notice or by writing to the court to waive your show cause hearing. Judgment will be entered resulting in a conviction.
