Virtual Library Program: Sci-Tech - Be a Chemist!

Sunday, September 27, 2020

Join Plano Public Library and Sci-Tech Discovery Center for some science fun. Children ages 7-12 can play the role of chemists and discover the importance of chemistry to fields as varied as medicine, manufacturing, art and environmental conservation. The Be a Chemist program is Sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline and offered in partnership with The Franklin Institute and UNC Morehead Planetarium. Offered in collaboration with Sci-Tech, Plano Public Library is one of 27 locations across the country to host the program. This one-hour program, hosted on Zoom, includes hands-on experiments using supplies picked up at the library one week before the program. The classes are small to provide an interactive experience so be sure to register right away. **Participants will need a computer with internet access, a webcam, a microphone and the Zoom app downloaded in advance.
