The City of Plano is working with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to improve the intersection at Preston Road and the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT). Construction is expected to begin this week and will continue through 2021.

The improvements include:

  • widening the southbound Preston Road bridge over the KCS railroad and PGBT
  • creating a southbound right-turn lane at the PGBT westbound on-ramp
  • adding dual left-turn lanes for southbound traffic to the PGBT eastbound on-ramp

Please share this information with others you know who may be impacted by the construction closures. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this much-needed improvement. If you have questions, call the City of Plano Engineering department at 972-941-7152 or TxDOT Public Information Officer Shawn Yousefi at 214-491-9062.
