  2. John Bostwick Gallery Reception

    September 13, 2019, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Courtyard Theater

John Bostwick’s Our Town portfolio, now on display at Courtyard Theater through 9/15/19, was inspired by Farm Service Administration photographers who fanned out across the country to record the plight of Depression-era rural and urban populations. Today’s economic, political and climate upheavals are bringing dramatic changes across our landscape. Bostwick portrays not only a fading way of life, but also our forefathers’ legacy of determination, pride, hard work and love for family. His black and white images were captured throughout Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and Louisiana, with an emphasis on form, contrast and movement. Scenes of simple and unexpected beauty will stir memories of places you may have never been, but that we all carry in our hearts. Come meet the artist and learn more about his work at a reception on Friday 9/13 from 7 to 9 PM, at Courtyard Theater, 1509 H Avenue, Plano.

    September 13, 2019, 8:00 PM - 9:15 PM @ Cox Playhouse

Plano is funny... who knew? Come laugh it up at a weekend of events put together by the area's best local comedy producers. You'll catch both up-and-coming local stand-ups and critically-acclaimed headliners. Performers based in DFW and from across the US will network and connect with fellow comedians. The end result? More high-caliber shows both for area comedy lovers, and better opportunities for the DFW comedy community to represent Plano, the Metroplex and the great state of Texas to the rest of the country.
