2019 Summer Programs and Classes at the Library

Engage Summer 2019 programs and classes at Plano Public Library

This summer be a space explorer at the library and learn more about our galaxy. Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the moon landing by making a UFO, exploring black holes, creating a nebula, embroidering a constellation and finding the missing spaceship.

  • Visit artists in residence Tschaner Sefas and Katie Risor at the 18st AIRSpace. They are hosting workshops on creating an upcycled denim bowl, recycled CD mosaic art, zines and ink and watercolor urban sketching

  • Learn about 3D printing with classes at Davis, Harrington and Parr libraries for families, teens and adults.

  • Set your reading goal and come to our Big Bang Bash! Learning never stops. Track your learning throughout the summer with our reading log. Bring your completed reading log ticket to the parties and meet Pluto the Penguin

  • Chinese learners can learn technology in Chinese at classes using, Learning Express Library, Kanopy, OverDrive and RB Digital

  • Wondering what that App is that your children are using? The Plano Police Department Victim Services Unit will discuss some of the popular applications used by children and teens

  • Teens can learn how far their paycheck will take them as the play the Game of Life with college students from the University of North Texas Student Money Management Center. Explore how to Navigate Your Future by thinking about careers and the education path to get there with Plano Public Library and Collin College

  • Special Needs and Autism-Friendly Programs (SNAP) are for children with ASD and other special needs and their families. SNAP Storytime and SNAP Family Storytime include books, songs, movement activities, playtime, high structure and interaction in a sensory-sensitive environment. SNAP STEAM Saturdays allow children with ASD and other special needs and their families to experience STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Music in their own way. SNAP Autism Friendly Movies are shown with the lights up and the volume lowered. Children are free to move around and talk as needed.
